Founded by the visionary brothers Jacques Vogel, a renowned perfumer, and Lucien Vogel, the esteemed founder of French Vogue and a prominent figure in the Art Deco movement, the house derived its name from the esteemed French poet Alfred de Vigny. Each of the fragrances created by Vigny pays homage to the captivating tales penned by this literary luminary.

The inaugural fragrance of Vigny, known as Musky, made its debut in 1919. The exquisite flacons for these scents were masterfully designed by Lalique and Brosse, revered for their playful style that occasionally spawned lively debates. In 1933, the house simplified its name to Vigny, a change that signified a fresh chapter in the brand’s evolution.
