Tous is a reputable jewelry house that originated in Spain, specifically in Catalonia, in 1920. It was founded by Salvador Tous Blavi and his wife Teresa Ponsa Mas, with a primary focus on watch repair. Over time, their small workshop transitioned into a prominent jewelry brand.
In 1965, Salvador Tous, the son of the founder, married Rosa Oriol, a union that played a significant role in shaping the company’s success. Combining their talents, experience, and creativity, they propelled the jewelry business forward. It was in 1985 that Rosa Oriol, drawing inspiration from a teddy bear she encountered during her travels, designed the iconic “bear” motif, which would become synonymous with the Tous brand. This bear symbol, believed to bring good luck, has since become a staple in their collections.
Remaining true to its roots, Tous has continued to operate as a family business. Salvador and Rosa’s four daughters—Rosa, Alba, Laura, and Marta—have all joined the company between 1987 and 1992, further enriching its legacy.
Today, Tous boasts an extensive international presence, with more than 380 stores across 45 countries and five continents. In addition to its renowned jewelry, Tous has diversified its product offerings to include a range of baby and children’s gear, handbags, small accessories, fragrances, and cosmetics.
The introduction of fragrances and cosmetics came in 2002 when Tous partnered with Spanish fragrance company Perfumes y Disenos. The inaugural fragrance, Tous Eau de Toilette for Women, was uniquely presented with a bottle topped by the famous Tous bear cap. Many fragrances within the collection incorporate the signature bear logo in their packaging or bottle design.
Tous has made a significant impact on the fragrance industry, with 48 perfumes in their fragrance base. These captivating scents have been masterfully crafted by renowned perfumers, including Daphné Bugey, Nicolas Beaulieu, Nathalie Lorson, Sonia Constant, Sophie Labbe, Mathilde Bijaoui, Fabrice Pellegrin, Corinne Cachen, Veronique Nyberg, Violaine Collas, Benoist Lapouza, Olivier Cresp, Dominique Ropion, Domitille Michalon Bertier, Christian Alori, Christine Nagel, Shyamala Maisondieu, Michel Girard, Stephanie de Saint-Aignan, Richard Fraysse, Mark Buxton, Vincent Schaller, Alienor Massenet, Juliette Karagueuzoglou, Gilles Romey, Véronique Nyberg, Pierre Wargnye, Vincent Salaire, Elise Benat, and Ane Ayo.
