S-Perfume is a small independent perfumery brand that was established in New York City in November 2000 by artist Sacre Nobi, also known as Mother S. The brand’s inception can be attributed to Nobi’s artistic project called “Olfactory Art,” which revolved around creating scented sculptures. These sculptures garnered attention from exhibition visitors who expressed a desire to obtain the scents, prompting Nobi to bottle and distribute them under the name S-Perfume.
Initially, S-Perfume Version 1.0, later rebranded as Jet-Scent, was the sole fragrance commercially available for a period of three years. Inspired by the lifestyle of surfers and the world of surfing itself, Jet-Scent 1.0 paid homage to this unique subculture by incorporating scents of rubber, polyester, and surfboard wax intertwined with organic elements reminiscent of the ocean. Not only was it the sole fragrance associated with surfing, but it also earned the distinction of being the sole fragrance displayed and sold in a contemporary art gallery.
In June 2003, S-Perfume introduced its first feminine fragrance, called 100% Love. The creation of this fragrance was a collaborative effort between S-Perfume and renowned perfumer Sophia Grojsman. Likewise, the brand’s first masculine fragrance, initially named Hardcore and later renamed S-ex, followed suit. The founder is steadfast in ensuring that the S-Perfume brand does not succumb to mass-market tendencies, and is dedicated to preserving its uniquely original identity within the fragrance market.
S-Perfume currently boasts a collection of nine diverse perfumes, with the earliest edition dating back to 2000 and the most recent release in 2014. These fragrances were brought to life through collaborations with esteemed perfumers such as Sophia Grojsman, Carlos Benaim, Christophe Laudamiel, and Alberto Morillas.
