The company s.Oliver was established in 1969 in Würzburg, Bavaria, Germany. Originally named “Sir Oliver,” the company’s first boutique took inspiration from Charles Dickens’s novel Oliver Twist and fashionable British stores that often incorporated “Sir” into their names. However, due to the word “Sir” being trademarked by 4711, the company had to change its name. Thus, s.Oliver was chosen, which proved to be a more enchanting name when the initial ladieswear collections were introduced.
Today, s.Oliver offers a wide range of products, including menswear, ladieswear, childrenswear, underwear, swimwear, handbags, shoes, fashion jewelry, sunglasses, belts, and a fragrance collection. By the end of 2011, the company owned over 170 stand-alone stores and sold its products in more than 400 concession stores, as well as nearly 2,000 shops and boutiques across 30 countries. Since 1995, s.Oliver has experienced significant growth and now ranks among Europe’s top 20 fashion companies.
The brand is particularly renowned for its launch of casual fragrances for both men and women. In 2006, s.Oliver presented s.Oliver Hot Edition Men, an aromatic and spicy scent, as well as s.Oliver Hot Edition Women, a floral composition. The following year, s.Oliver introduced s.Oliver City Beach Men, a fragrance centered on citruses, and s.Oliver City Beach Women, a floral and fruity scent with a sweet and musky undertone. The Love 2008 fragrance duo by s.Oliver, released in May 2008, aimed to capture the essence of the transformative summer of 1967 in terms of music, art, and fashion, evoking a sense of love, fun, and sunshine.
In 2009, s.Oliver unveiled Casual Men and Casual Women, two fragrances with fresh and fruity notes that embody naturality, spontaneity, and a pleasurable everyday life. The design of the bottles also reflects the concept and message of naturalness and comfort. The fruity and floral s.Oliver Spring Spirit Woman and the woody-aromatic s.Oliver Spring Spirit Man were introduced in 2010. Among other releases in 2011, s.Oliver presented s.Oliver Original Women and s.Oliver Original Men.
s.Oliver prioritizes social responsibility and actively supports various charitable organizations. Notably, designer Sonia Constant has created 60 perfumes in our fragrance collection, with the earliest edition dating back to 2006 and the most recent being from 2023.
