Royall Fragrances draw their inspiration from the semi-tropical paradise of Bermuda, a captivating island archipelago often referred to as the “jewel in the Atlantic”. The renowned Mr. Anthony J. Gaade, a Bermuda yachtsman and competitor in international races, introduced the first fragrance of the house in 1957 – Royall Lyme.

This refreshing and invigorating masculine fragrance is skillfully blended from native West Indian limes, infused with the purity of island rains. The recipe behind Royall Lyme originates from an old Caribbean formula, obtained from the esteemed Harbor Islanders. With pride, we disclose that this secret formula comprises a remarkable total of 78 meticulously chosen ingredients.

In 1960, Royall Lyme made its grand debut at Brooks Brothers New York, quickly capturing the hearts and senses of fragrance enthusiasts. Its popularity transcended borders, captivating the international markets of London, Milan, and beyond. Following the overwhelming success of Royall Lyme, Mr. Gaade ventured to create additional fragrances that encapsulate the essence and spirit of the Bermuda islands. This resulted in the creation of Royall Spyce, Royall Bay Rhum, Royall Muske, and Royall Mandarin, which gracefully joined the esteemed collection in 2001.

The original packaging of Royall Fragrances artfully reflects the allure of old Bermuda. Each bottle is meticulously crafted from semi-handmade glass, using original clay molds. Adorned with antimonial pewter-colored lead bron caps, a crown and lime cluster are thoughtfully molded onto every bottle. The fragrance name and crown are intricately embossed onto the back of each bottle, while a distinctive colored label adorns the front. A final touch of elegance is added with fine parchment, sealed with a crown wax seal (made from the same wax used by the Bank of England).
