Inspired by the ancient kingdom of Al Andalus, the brand meticulously incorporates classic fragrance ingredients to create a unique olfactory experience that combines the rich traditions of the Middle East and the Mediterranean. By doing so, they aim to provide perfume enthusiasts with a deeper connection to the cultural legacy of Al Andalus, the birthplace of European perfumery during the Middle Ages.
Each perfume in this collection is dedicated to a specific character, place, or tradition closely associated with Al Andalus. With a keen focus on art direction, the olfactory concept of each fragrance aligns harmoniously with its name, offering a truly immersive experience.
Ricardo Ramos, a globally acclaimed Spanish-Colombian fashion designer, made his debut at the young creators runway of Pasarela Gaudí in Barcelona. Since then, he has been a regular participant in prestigious fashion weeks around the world, including Berlin, London, and New York. With professional training in Paris and London, Ramos has cultivated close ties to the fragrance industry for over 15 years through various projects and collaborations. His previous endeavors include working with Lancaster Monaco Cosmetics House, Quest International Fragrance House, and a recent partnership with MG International (MG Gulcicek) in Istanbul, Turkey, with whom he maintains a strong professional relationship.
While Ramos is recognized primarily as a fashion designer, he is also an avid enthusiast of historical textile conservation and a passionate collector of ancient banknotes. At Ricardo Ramos Perfumes de Autor, he collaborates with Colombian-British perfumer Jorge Lee on the formulation aspect of the fragrances, while personally overseeing the evaluation and art direction. The conditioning and packaging of the line are meticulously handcrafted in Granada, Spain, ensuring the highest level of quality and attention to detail.
The brand currently offers an impressive collection of 36 perfumes, with the earliest edition dating back to 2004 and the most recent release in 2022. The fragrances have been meticulously crafted in collaboration with perfumers Ricardo Ramos, Jorge Lee, and Tomoo Inaba, each contributing their unique expertise to the collection’s aromatic symphony.
