Ramon Monegal, the esteemed founder and perfumer behind Ramon Monegal Parfums, has established a reputation for his exceptional craftsmanship and unwavering commitment to quality. Headquartered in Barcelona, Monegal’s journey as a perfumer has been characterized by his fearless approach, refined taste, and expertise in utilizing the most intricate and lavish raw materials. With a keen sensitivity and meticulous attention to detail, he meticulously crafts his creations across all stages and facets of the process.
Monegal’s insatiable thirst for knowledge led him to pursue studies at the Barcelona Design Centre in 1977, followed by a year at ESADE, while simultaneously honing his skills in Paris. In 1979, he unveiled his inaugural fragrance, “Alada,” marking the beginning of his illustrious career. As the Creative Director of Myrurgia, Monegal spearheaded the development of captivating “olfactory images” for esteemed brands such as Adolfo Dominguez, Antonio Miró, Aigner, Ines de la Fresange, and Massimo Dutti, among numerous others. His unwavering dedication to excellence resulted in resounding success.
In recognition of his remarkable contributions, Monegal was appointed to the board of Myrurgia in 1985, eventually ascending to the role of Senior Vice-President. When Antonio Puig acquired Myrurgia in 2000, they sought Monegal’s collaboration to continue leading the development of various licenses and new brands, including Maison Parfum. However, in 2007, he made the decision to forge his own path, parting ways with the Puig Group to embark on an independent journey.
After a period of reflection, Monegal resolved to turn his long-held dream into reality: the freedom to create without limitations. Since then, he has unleashed his creativity, resulting in an impressive portfolio of 51 fragrances under his eponymous brand. Ramon Monegal Parfums has garnered renown as a dynamic and innovative fragrance brand since its establishment in 2009, with the latest additions to the collection released as recently as 2023. Monegal himself, with his unrivaled expertise and olfactory artistry, personally oversees the creation of each fragrance, ensuring they embody his unmistakable signature style.
