Founded in 1932 by Italian-born Maria “Nina” Ricci and her son Robert, Nina Ricci is a renowned French fashion house. Maria, the creative force behind the brand, was celebrated for her refined and feminine gowns, while Robert managed the business and financial aspects of the company. In 1946, Nina Ricci introduced their first fragrance, Coeur Joie, which marked the beginning of a significant partnership with Lalique, the renowned crystal designer. Lalique designed a stunning crystal bottle for the perfume, solidifying the collaboration between the two companies. Two years later, in 1948, Nina Ricci released their most iconic fragrance, L’Air du Temps, presented in the distinct dove-shaped flacon. This fragrance remains a popular choice to this day and has become a timeless bestseller for the brand. In 1998, Nina Ricci was acquired by Puig, a leading fashion and fragrance company, and continues its legacy of producing high-quality fashion and a range of fragrances for both men and women. The Ricci family’s expertise in perfumery has also extended to the current generation, with Romano Ricci, great grandson of Maria and grandson of Robert, creating fragrances under the brand Juliette Has a Gun. With a wide range of offerings, Nina Ricci has developed an extensive fragrance base of 103 perfumes. The brand’s perfume collection has been created in collaboration with esteemed perfumers, including Francis Fabron, Germaine Cellier, Jean Guichard, Betty Busse, and many others.
