Despite his initial foray into dance and professional work at the tender age of 14, Mugler expanded his repertoire by studying interior design before making the decisive move to Paris at 24. There, he embarked on a career as a window dresser and freelance designer, eventually launching his own personal collection for women in 1973. Notably, Mugler continued to push boundaries by opening his maiden Parisian boutique and introducing a menswear line in 1978.
Mugler’s distinctive style is characterized by its futuristic contours and imaginative elements, marking him as a true visionary in the industry. In 1992, he unveiled his inaugural fragrance, Angel, which instantaneously revolutionized the fragrance landscape with its unabashed fusion of sweet and culinary notes. Its enduring success was rightfully acknowledged when it was inducted into the esteemed Fifi Awards Hall of Fame in 2007. Notably, Mugler’s first official scent for men, A*Men, made its entrance in 1996, adding another triumph to his olfactory triumphs.
