Following the tumultuous period of the French Revolution, Pierre François Lubin established his prestigious Perfume House on rue Sainte Anne in Paris. Catering to the elite factions of society known as the “Incroyables” and “Merveilleuses,” Lubin offered an exquisite range of perfumed ribbons, ball masks, and rice powders. However, it was his remarkable creation, the “Eau Vivifiante,” later renamed “Eau de Lubin,” that propelled his fame. The fragrance garnered the adoration of the Imperial court, thanks to the patronage of Empress Joséphine and Pauline Bonaparte, Princess Borghèse.
Upon the reinstatement of the Bourbon monarchy, Lubin dedicated his olfactory creations to Queen Marie-Amélie. These fragrances gained the trust and favor of crowned heads across Europe, as proudly displayed by the Coats of Arms of France, the King of England, the Russian Tsar, and the American Eagle, symbolizing his successful foray into the New World in 1830. From the grandeur of the Mississippi River to the opulence of Indian palaces, Lubin’s fragrances soon attained worldwide recognition.

With roots dating back to 1798, Lubin stands as an enduring symbol of elegance and refinement. Throughout the years, Lubin fragrances have been masterfully crafted in collaboration with esteemed perfumers such as Thomas Fontaine, Edmond Roudnitska, Olivia Giacobetti, Lucien Ferrero, Delphine Thierry, Henri Giboulet, Vanina Muracciole, and Roger Broudoux.
