Louis Vuitton Malletier is a renowned French luxury brand celebrated for its exquisite leather bags, suitcases, and iconic monogram. Founded by Louis Vuitton in 1854, the brand established its first boutique on Rue Neuve des Capucines in Paris. The legacy was passed down to Louis Vuitton’s son, Georges Vuitton, who carried the torch after his father’s passing. In 1913, the magnificent Louis Vuitton building graced the Champs-Elysees, solidifying the brand’s presence in the fashion world. Following the demise of Georges Vuitton in 1936, his son Gaston-Louis Vuitton continued the family tradition with unwavering dedication.
In 1987, the LMVH company was established, incorporating prominent brands such as Moet et Chandon, Hennessy, and Louis Vuitton. A significant milestone occurred in 1997 when the visionary designer Marc Jacobs was appointed as the creative director of the house, infusing his distinct artistic flair into the brand’s identity. In 2013, Nicolas Ghesquiere took the reins from Jacobs and propelled Louis Vuitton into a new era of innovation and creativity.
The journey of Louis Vuitton extended beyond fashion, with the brand venturing into the production of luxurious toiletries in the 1920s. Notably, the brand introduced crystal perfume bottles entitled “Editions d’Art.” The perfume collection commenced with the release of Heures d’Absence in 1927, followed by Je Tu Il in 1928, Réminiscences, and Eau de Voyage in 1946. Eau de Voyage was reintroduced to the market during the 1980s, marking an exciting chapter for the brand’s fragrances.
The year 2016 marked a significant turning point in the brand’s perfume legacy. Extensive efforts were invested in the creation process within the esteemed creative atelier, Les Fontains Parfumées, located in Grasse. Under the expertise of in-house perfumer Jacques Cavallier Belletrud, this venture took shape over four years. The licensing of these exceptional fragrances belongs to the LVMH company, further solidifying Louis Vuitton’s commitment to excellence.
As of today, Louis Vuitton boasts an impressive fragrance base, with 42 distinct perfumes to its credit. A testament to the brand’s enduring presence in the perfume industry, Louis Vuitton has been captivating fragrance enthusiasts since the release of its inaugural scent in 1927. Continuing to push boundaries, the brand released its newest perfume in 2022, showcasing its dedication to innovation and quality. The exceptional artistry of perfumer Jacques Cavallier is prevalent throughout this expansive collection.
