Parfums de Rosine was originally established in 1911 by Paul Poiret, who named the fragrance house after his own daughter. During its initial years, the fragrances gained significant popularity; however, the brand did not survive the challenges brought about by the Great Depression.
In 1991, Marie-Hélène Rogeon breathed new life into the iconic house. Coming from a family with a rich history in perfumery, Marie-Hélène’s fascination with perfumes and the allure of perfume bottles began in her formative years. Over time, she came to realize the profound impact fragrances had on her life. Seeking a departure from mainstream and designer offerings, Marie-Hélène made the decision to revive Les Parfums de Rosine. Her goal was to craft original, unique, and exquisitely composed fragrances using natural essences.
At the heart of her creations lies the essence of roses. Marie-Hélène’s compositions are a testament to the everlasting allure and surprising qualities of the rose. Even after many years, the fragrant qualities of this flower continue to captivate and inspire her. Marie-Hélène caters to customers who seek authentic scents, unswayed by the ever-changing fashion trends.
Marie-Hélène not only emphasizes the use of natural ingredients and the creation of fragrant masterpieces but also places great importance on beautiful and appealing packaging.
The journey of Les Parfums de Rosine began in 1998 with the introduction of Rose d’Eté, a floral and fruity fragrance that combines the strength of roses with refreshing hints of green apples. In 2002, the brand unveiled Un Zeste de Rose, a floral composition with dominant notes of Amalfi lemon from Italy. The same year witnessed the release of Ecume de Rose, a beloved floral and aquatic scent.
As the years went by, the brand continued to astonish with its array of fragrances. Noteworthy creations include Rose Flamence (2004), featuring rose and orange blossom; Une Folies de Rose (2004), a chypre composition with intense musky undertones; and Parfums Rose (2005), a floral fragrance with woody accords. In 2006, Rose d’Amour, an intense floral scent with prominent notes of aldehydes and pepper, joined the brand’s collection alongside the floral, woody, and musky composition of Twill Rose.
The year 2009 marked the successful launch of Secrets de Rose, an oriental and floral fragrance. One year later, Les Parfums de Rosine introduced Une Rose au Bord de la Mer, another captivating oriental-floral composition. In 2011, the brand delighted fragrance enthusiasts with the offerings of La Rose Extreme, Clair Matin, and Glam Rose.
As of now, Les Parfums de Rosine boasts an impressive collection of 54 perfumes, with the earliest edition originating in 1998 and the most recent in 2021. Perfumers such as Delphine Lebeau, Serge de Oliveira, Marie-Helene Rogeon, Francois Robert, Benoist Lapouza, Nicolas Bonneville, Pierre Bourdon, and Michel Almairac have collaborated with the brand to bring these scents to fruition.
