Lancôme Paris is a prestigious French cosmetics company that was founded by Armand Petitjean in 1935. Petitjean, a former Coty employee, drew inspiration for the company’s name from the majestic ruins of Le Château de Lancosme. The brand’s iconic rose symbol is also a nod to the beautiful roses that surround the castle.

Initially established as a perfume company, Lancôme debuted five exquisite fragrances in time for the 1935 World’s Fair in Brussels, Belgium. Over the years, the company expanded its offerings to include a wide range of cosmetics and skincare products designed for both men and women.

Lancôme’s fragrance legacy dates back to its inception in 1935 when the company introduced its first collection of women’s scents, which included Tendre Nuit, Bocages, Conquete, Kypre, and Tropiques.
