In 1879, he created his very first fragrance, Pleasure Gardenia 79, as an engagement gift for his beloved French fiancée. When Albert Krigler opened his inaugural perfume store in St. Petersburg, Russia in 1904, Pleasure Gardenia 79 took center stage as the first fragrance available for purchase. Shortly thereafter, he introduced Hermitage Heritage 04, a scent specifically designed for men. In 1909, Krigler relocated to the enchanting South of France, where he spent time immersed in the Champagne region. The popularity of Krigler perfumes soared, garnering a loyal following throughout Prussia, Eastern Europe, and the renowned French Riviera. As the year 1914 ushered in significant changes due to the outbreak of war, Krigler made the decision to establish its base in France, becoming a well-established French perfume house. In the early 1920s, Krigler Perfumes experienced a meteoric rise to prominence, captivating celebrities and royals of the era who were drawn to Mr. Krigler’s scents inspired by glamorous destinations such as Monte Carlo, the Italian Riviera, and the Mediterranean. In 1931, Krigler expanded its horizons and began offering its fragrances in New York City’s iconic Plaza Hotel, marking the introduction of their much-loved creation, America One 31. The tumultuous 1940s and World War II led Krigler to evolve into a French-American company as a result of losing numerous European clientele. Although the 1950s witnessed a brief European resurgence, it was a bittersweet time as Albert Krigler sadly passed away in 1954. The fourth generation of Krigler perfumers refocused their efforts on the company’s bespoke services, offering personalized fragrances and scented candles. Each Krigler fragrance is expertly blended to harmoniously enhance rather than overpower the wearer.
