Korloff Paris, a renowned jewelry house established in 1978 by Daniel Paillasseur, draws its name from a legendary diamond. Born in Lyon in 1948, Paillasseur had already gained international recognition and acclaim for his innovative creations prior to founding Korloff Paris. The rich history of the brand is intimately intertwined with the world’s largest black diamond, known as the “Black Korloff,” weighing an impressive 88 carats. Passed down through generations, this diamond belonged to the Russian noble family of Korloff Sapojnikoff. According to legend, the stone bestows happiness, good fortune, and prosperity upon all who encounter it. Consequently, the Black Korloff became the defining symbol and soul of the Korloff Paris company, symbolized by the distinct double “K” signature.
Initially a small boutique, the house has since expanded to become a global brand with more than 50 Korloff Paris boutiques spanning over 58 countries, while also being available at over 500 select retailers worldwide, from Paris to Tokyo. Korloff Paris offers an extensive collection featuring high-quality and luxurious jewelry, Swiss watches, accessories, haute couture, leather goods, optic frames, sunglasses, and fragrances. Drawing inspiration from diverse cultures and beautiful cities around the globe, Daniel Paillasseur, the brand’s visionary creator, infuses his designs with a sense of artistry and elegance.
The brand’s fragrances have made a significant impact in the fragrance industry. The first scent, simply named Korloff, was introduced in 1996, exuding a floral-fruity aroma. In 2008, a new perfume collection was launched, comprising three fragrances: Kn°I, Kn°II, and Kn°III. Daniel Paillasseur himself expressed, “I create exceptional perfumes for exceptional women. Drawing from an imaginary bouquet, I have crafted three eau de toilette for the Korloff lady, paying homage to the world’s largest black diamond, which, as legend has it, brings happiness, luck, and prosperity to anyone who possesses it… The fragrance bottles indeed weigh 88 ml, mirroring the diamond’s substantial 88-carat weight.”
In 2010, Korloff Paris released yet another collection featuring three fragrances: Korloff Lady, Korloff Man, and Korloff Noir. Presently, the brand’s fragrance portfolio consists of 38 perfumes, with the earliest edition developed in 1996 and the latest anticipated in 2023. Collaborating with esteemed perfumers such as Daniel Paillasseur, Julien Rasquinet, Coralie Spicher, and Olivier Cresp, the Korloff Paris fragrances allure individuals with their captivating scents and exquisite craftsmanship.
