Established by Fraser Ross in 2000, Kitson initially started as a single boutique store but has since grown exponentially. In 2008, the brand expanded further by opening a store at the Americana at Brand in Glendale, CA. Noteworthy is the opening of Kitson Kids in Downtown Disney, located in Anaheim, California, catering specifically to children.

Recognizing the global appeal of their brand, Kitson expanded its reach internationally. On March 8, 2009, Kitson proudly inaugurated its first store in Japan, situated in the prestigious Lumine department store in Tokyo.
