Founded in 1968 in Naples, Italy by Ciro Paone, Kiton has established itself as a renowned Italian clothing brand. Inspired by the ceremonial tunic called “chitone” worn by the ancient Greeks on Mount Olympus, the brand’s name “Kiton” pays homage to this rich heritage.

Specializing in classical and tailor-made suits, Kiton gained popularity in 1975, initially in France and later in Germany. Recognizing the potential of the brand, Kilton Corporation was founded in 1986, with its headquarters located in the iconic Crown Building in New York City.

Kiton further solidified its reputation with the introduction of their “seven-folds” ties in 1991, known for their exceptional craftsmanship. In 1995, Kiton expanded its offerings by launching its first line of feminine clothing, catering to the discerning tastes of women as well.

In 2001, Kiton marked a significant milestone by opening its first flagship store in Milan, showcasing its exquisite creations. To promote the art of high tailoring, the brand also established the School of High Tailoring within its factory.

Recognizing the importance of the American market, Kiton opened a grand flagship store and showroom on East 54th Street in New York City in 2002, further cementing its presence and catering to its discerning clientele.

Kiton’s dedication to elegance and luxury extends beyond clothing, as the brand ventured into the realm of fragrance in 1996 with their debut fragrance, Kiton Red, also known as Kiton for Men. Continuing to captivate fragrance enthusiasts, Kiton introduced their second fragrance, Kiton Black, in 2007.

With a portfolio of four perfumes, Kiton collaborates with esteemed perfumers Maurice Roucel and Nejla Barbir to create fragrances that embody the essence of the brand. Spanning over a decade, Kiton fragrances offer a range of olfactory experiences, with the earliest edition dating back to 1996 and the most recent release in 2007.
