JOOP! is a renowned German fashion and cosmetics brand established by designer Wolfgang Joop in 1978. The brand’s name was stylized with a capitalized “JOOP!” and an exclamation point to set it apart from the designer himself. In 1982, JOOP! unveiled its inaugural ready-to-wear collection, and in 1985, it expanded its offerings to include menswear. Notably, JOOP! gained acclaim through its extensive range of fragrances, starting with the introduction of JOOP! Femme in 1987. Just two years later, the immensely popular fragrance JOOP! Homme was launched. These fragrances propelled JOOP! to transition from a fashion company to a comprehensive lifestyle brand, encompassing fashion, accessories, eyewear, fragrances, and home goods.
Although Wolfgang Joop departed from the company in 2001, JOOP! has persevered as a prominent name in the industry. Since 2008, Swiss-based Holy Fashion Group has held ownership of the brand, while Coty retains the licenses for JOOP! cosmetics and fragrances. While primarily targeting the Austrian, Swiss, and German markets, JOOP! has garnered immense popularity and recognition as one of Germany’s most esteemed brands. Additionally, Wolfgang Joop’s daughter, Jette Joop, has joined the family tradition by becoming a perfumer with several fragrances of her own on the market.
The designer label Joop! boasts an extensive collection of 51 perfumes in our fragrance base. The earliest fragrance dates back to 1987, and the latest addition hails from 2022. These fragrances have been crafted through collaborations with renowned perfumers including Creations Aromatiques, Michel Almairac, Veronique Nyberg, Olivier Polge, Francis Kurkdjian, Calice Becker, Sophie Labbe, Antoine Maisondieu, Antoine Lie, Alienor Massenet, Louise Turner, Christophe Raynaud, Benoist Lapouza, Gilles Romey, Michel Girard, and Fabrice Pellegrin.
