Jean-Louis Scherrer (1935-2013) was a renowned French couturier recognized for his exquisite designs that captivated the affluent and glamorous. Starting his career at the esteemed fashion house Christian Dior, Scherrer had the privilege of collaborating with Yves Saint Laurent. Eventually, both designers ventured out to establish their own fashion empires and gained recognition as celebrated fashion icons during the 1960s. Scherrer assumed the role of managing his own fashion house as well as serving as the chief designer until 1992 when the brand changed ownership, resulting in his departure. Despite the cessation of fashion production in 2007, the Scherrer brand persisted in licensing its name for various products, including fragrances. The esteemed designer, Jean-Louis Scherrer, sadly passed away in 2013. Nevertheless, in 2014, the brand experienced a revival and inaugurated its flagship store on Rue du Faubourg Saint Honoré. Additionally, the brand released its first fragrance in over a decade, One Love, in 2015, marking a significant milestone. The iconic Jean-Louis Scherrer fragrance, a distinctive women’s chypre fragrance, was initially launched in 1979 and has since become a timeless classic, serving as a stepping-stone for a series of fragrances developed for both men and women over the years. Today, the fragrance collection of designer Jean-Louis Scherrer comprises 14 unique creations, with the earliest edition dating back to 1979 and the most recent release introduced in 2017. These fragrances are the result of collaborations with esteemed perfumers Nathalie Lorson, Raphael Haury, Josette Ramisse, Nathalie Feisthauer, Marie-Aude Couture, Mathilde Bijaoui, Violaine Collas, and Julie Masse.
