Izod

Izod is a renowned sportswear and casual clothing company that was established in the United States in 1938. The inception of the brand can be attributed to Vincent De Paul Draddy, an American businessman who stumbled upon the distinguished tailor Jack Izod and his boutique during a vacation in London. Jack Izod, recognized for creating the Windsor tie-knot for King George V, was contemplating retirement and agreed to sell the rights to his brand’s name to Draddy. Consequently, the brand was christened Izod of London.

Izod of London gained prominence in the “preppy clothing” industry when it formed a partnership with Lacoste from 1952 to 1993. This collaboration led to the brand being commonly referred to as “Izod Lacoste”. The late 1970s witnessed Izod’s peak popularity in the United States, and its pastel-colored T-shirts became synonymous with the prevailing “preppy” fashion trend of the 1980s.

In 1995, the Izod brand was acquired by Phillips-Van Heusen, marking the beginning of a new phase in its fashion journey. Subsequently, the brand expanded its menswear lines and ventured into the realm of sporting apparel, with a primary focus on golf. As of today, Izod continues to offer vibrant and youthful lines of clothing for men, women, and children throughout the globe.

In addition to their clothing range, Izod has also entered the fragrance industry. Designer Izod boasts a single perfume in our fragrance encyclopedia, introduced in 2008. Collaborating with esteemed perfumers Annie Buzantian and Raymond Matts, Izod’s fragrances embody a unique olfactory experience.
