Isabey Paris was established in 1924 by Baron Henry James de Rothschild, drawing inspiration from the renowned French miniaturist painter, Jean-Baptiste Isabey. The brand quickly gained worldwide recognition for its exceptional quality and the exquisite presentation of its luxurious creations. In recognition of its originality, Isabey was awarded a gold medal for “Le Collier d’Isabey” by the jury of the Exposition of the Arts-Décoratives in April 1925. These delicate fragrances became highly sought after, thanks to the magnificent bottle designs by renowned artists such as Julien Viard and René Lalique, as well as their jewel-like cases.
Isabey introduced a legendary collection of perfumes with evocative names that invited wearers to embark on enchanting journeys, including “La Route d’Emeraude,” “L’Ambre de Carthage,” “Lys Noir,” “Le Chypre Celtique,” and “Le Bleu de Chine.” Unfortunately, due to historical circumstances, Isabey was forced to cease operations in 1941. However, since 1999, these mythical fragrances have been revived and reintroduced by Panouge, while preserving their iconic legacy.
Isabey Paris fragrances can now be found in the most prestigious perfumeries around the world. The brand boasts a collection of 15 perfumes in its fragrance base. Isabey is an esteemed perfume house with its earliest edition dating back to 1924 and its latest release being in 2022. Isabey perfumes have been created in collaboration with esteemed perfumers such as Marie Schnirer, Jean Jacques, Jean Jacque, Luca Maffei, and Catherine Selig.
