Ermenegildo Zegna, an esteemed Italian fashion house, has been a prominent force in the menswear industry since its establishment in 1910. Founded by Ermenegildo Zegna, the house remains a family-owned business to this day, now led by the fourth generation of the Zegna family.
Renowned for its unwavering commitment to producing top-quality garments, Zegna oversees every aspect of the clothing manufacturing process, from the creation of fabrics to the final product. A testament to their dedication to excellence is the Zegna Wool Mill, established in 1910, which produces the exceptional fabric used in Zegna suits. Consistently acknowledged as one of the world’s leading producers of fine fabrics, the Zegna Wool Mill crafts over 2.3 million meters of wool annually. Notably, Zegna also collaborates with esteemed designers such as Gucci, Yves Saint Laurent, and Tom Ford, manufacturing wool suits for their respective lines.
Zegna’s constant pursuit of quality and continuous exploration of technological advancements in wool production has propelled them to the forefront of the industry. The company’s journey began in 1910, and by the 1930s, it already boasted a workforce of over 1,000 employees. In 1942, Ermenegildo’s sons, Aldo and Angelo, joined the family business and subsequently assumed leadership after their father’s passing in 1966. Under their guidance, Zegna expanded its operations, inaugurating a second factory in Spain and later in Switzerland. Presently, Zegna maintains eight manufacturing facilities across the globe, offering an array of ready-made and made-to-order suits.
In 1980, Zegna marked a significant milestone with the opening of its debut boutique in Paris, solidifying its international presence. Today, the company boasts an impressive network of over 500 boutiques worldwide, featuring flagship stores and mega-stores in major cities. Beyond suits, Zegna has diversified its product range to encompass an extensive selection of menswear, including neckties, knitwear, shirts, accessories, and fragrances. Collaborating with esteemed perfumers such as Alain Muraour, Rosendo Mateu, and Alberto Morillas, Zegna introduced its inaugural fragrance through a partnership with YSL Beaute. In 2011, the company embarked on a new licensing agreement with the esteemed Estee Lauder Companies for fragrance production. With 54 perfumes to its name, the Zegna fragrance collection combines the artistry of talented perfumers such as Jacques Cavallier, Pierre Negrin, and Olivier Gillotin, among others.
