Enrico Coveri, the renowned Italian fashion designer, established his own fashion house and gained worldwide recognition for his vibrant designs. Known for his bold use of color, chromatism, imaginative prints, and penchant for eccentricity, Coveri showcased his creative talent to become an esteemed representative of the coveted “Made in Italy” customs and taste. In 1973, he unveiled his inaugural collection, Touche by Enrico Coveri, in Milan, which propelled him into the spotlight of the fashion world. Two years later, in Paris, he debuted his first women’s collection, which garnered instant success and rave reviews from influential fashion press and opinion-makers. Subsequently, he introduced a menswear line, where sequins became his emblematic signature. Le Figaro underscored this unmistakable feature, declaring, “Sequins are to Coveri what chains are to Chanel.”

Expanding their offerings, the Enrico Coveri fashion house released several collections for women, men, and children, alongside a range of jeans. In 1981, they diversified further by venturing into the realm of cosmetics. Soon after, they launched their first fragrance for women, Paillettes (sequins), in 1982, followed by Enrico Coveri pour Homme, their inaugural men’s fragrance. In a display of extravagance, Enrico Coveri hosted one of the most lavish masked balls at Palazzo Moretti in Venice.

As the brand continued to innovate, they introduced the You Young Coveri collection in 1985, catering specifically to a younger audience. In 1987, Enrico Coveri received one of his most esteemed accolades, the Grande Médaille de Vermail, in Paris. Notably, he was also bestowed the honorary title of Commendatore della Repubblica, making him the youngest person ever to receive this prestigious recognition at the age of 35. Following Enrico Coveri’s untimely demise in 1990, his sister Silvana assumed leadership of the fashion house, having been intimately involved in the business and closely assisting the designer throughout his career.

Francesco Martini Coveri, Silvana’s son and Enrico’s talented nephew, emerged as a prominent figure in fashion design, eventually becoming the Creative Director of You Young Coveri. With his remarkable contributions, he ascended as one of the leading forces within the fashion house, assuming the role of main designer and artistic director. His exceptional work has been acknowledged with numerous awards, including the Premio Ago d’oro in 1998, Premio Donna Circe, Premio Arte e Immagine nel mondo in 2002, as well as the distinguished “2004 Designer of the Year Award” in the United States. In 2004, the fashion house received a special tribute when a street in Prato, Italy was named Piazzale Enrico Coveri in honor of the esteemed designer.

Enrico Coveri’s fragrance collection boasts an impressive portfolio of 21 scents, with the oldest creation dating back to 1983 and the most recent from 2022.
