In 1983, she became the first Canadian artist to receive a Gold Record in France.

By 1988, Dion had established a successful career as a French-language singer. However, it was her 1990 breakthrough English album, “Unison,” featuring the chart-topping single “Where Does My Heart Beat Now,” that propelled her towards international stardom. Another notable milestone came in 1992 when she recorded the theme song for the Disney film “Beauty and the Beast,” duetting with Peabo Bryson. The song not only won the Academy Award for Best Performance by a Duo or Pop Group but also solidified Dion’s position as a global sensation.
