Cadillac

Cadillac is a renowned American luxury car manufacturer that was established by Henry Leland in 1902 in Detroit. Leland, a skilled machinist, inventor, engineer, and automotive entrepreneur, named the company after his ancestor, Antoine de la Mothe Cadillac, who founded the city of Detroit in 1701. The crest of the Cadillac family’s coat of arms served as inspiration for the company’s emblem. Cadillac emerged from the remnants of the Henry Ford Company. It unveiled its inaugural automobile at the 1903 New York Automobile Show, which promptly sold out.

In 1908, Cadillac made history by becoming the first American automaker to win the esteemed Dewar Trophy from the Royal Automobile Club of England. This prestigious award recognized Cadillac’s notable contributions to automotive advancement, particularly its innovative use of interchangeable parts. Following this achievement, Cadillac introduced its iconic slogan “Standard of the World.” During the period from 1915 to 1930, Cadillac spearheaded the development and introduction of V8, V16, and V-12 engines. Additionally, in 1927, the company unveiled elegantly designed bodywork that caught the attention of the automotive world.

Cadillac was acquired by General Motors in 1909, subsequently becoming the corporation’s prestige division. The brand has come to embody uncompromising performance, daring design, and groundbreaking technology. Cadillac has a history of pioneering achievements such as the creation of the world’s first electric self-starting engine and spearheading the integration of computer technology into vehicles. The brand also holds the distinction of being the first to offer drivers a choice of colors other than black and is responsible for manufacturing the fastest family of production cars with the CTS-V Series.

On the occasion of its 100th anniversary, Cadillac kicked off a new decade with the introduction of the award-winning Cien Concept. In 2008, the company launched the world’s first full-sized luxury hybrid SUV, the Escalade Hybrid. The CTS sedan further added to Cadillac’s accolades by winning the 2008 Car of the Year award. Notably, a Cadillac limousine played a pivotal role in the historic inauguration of President Barack Obama.

In addition to its automotive ventures, Cadillac has expanded its product line to include fragrances. The brand offers five perfumes in its fragrance base, with the earliest edition created in 2008 and the most recent one from 2012. These fragrances were crafted by the nose of Arnaud Winter.
