BOUDICCA is a London-based design duo consisting of Zowie Broach and Brian Kirkby. Established in 1997, BOUDICCA initially focused on artistic expression by showcasing their work in art galleries and other exhibition spaces for the first four years. However, in 2001, the British Fashion Council recognized their talent and invited them to officially present their collections during London Fashion Week. The brand draws inspiration from the ancient revolutionary queen, Boudicca, who fiercely fought the Romans and infamously set fire to London around 60 AD. Her legacy lives on, as archeologists have identified a distinct red layer of soil, known as the “BOUDICCA layer,” beneath the city. Additionally, a striking statue of Queen Boudicca (also known as Boadicea) and her daughters can be found outside the Houses of Parliament.
BOUDICCA is renowned for its integrity, intricate designs, and meticulous attention to detail. Each collection reflects extensive research and is meticulously crafted using the finest European fabrics. The brand prioritizes the fit and finish of each garment, ensuring that they are made to last a lifetime. By producing garments in limited quantities, BOUDICCA creates a sense of exclusivity for its wearers. Rejecting mass production, the brand embraces a balance between masculine and feminine elements, resulting in collections that are inherently feminine yet occasionally androgynous due to their exceptional tailoring.
In addition to their fashion line, BOUDICCA ventured into the fragrance industry, launching two perfumes in 2008. The brand collaborated with acclaimed nose Geza Schoen to create these distinctive fragrances.
