The inception of this collection was propelled by Crabtree’s lifelong passion for fragrance and his unwavering focus on the darker facets of British history. Growing up within an eclectic family comprising of artists, psychologists, and sailors, Crabtree’s early abode was a boat nestled on the waters of the renowned River Thames. “The sea, with its timeless traditions, superstitions, and unique way of life, has become deeply ingrained in my being. The name BeauFort London, derived from the illustrious 1805 wind force scale devised by esteemed Naval Officer Sir Francis Beaufort, serves as a framework through which we can better understand ourselves,” reflects Crabtree. “The wind, a steadfast presence, possesses an endurance that is both changeable and potentially cataclysmic.”

Collaborating closely with accomplished perfumers in Great Britain, Crabtree endeavors to unlock the collective subconscious of the nation through scents that shed light on bygone moments, resurrecting fragments of shared history that momentarily come alive and are carried through the air. The designer brand, BeauFort London, boasts a range of nine perfumes within its fragrance base. With its establishment relatively recent, the earliest creation dates back to 2015, while the most recent addition is from the year 2022.
