Baldessarini is a prestigious German fashion brand that was established by Werner Baldessarini in 1993. With his Austrian background and Italian heritage, Baldessarini embarked on a career in the fashion industry, starting from the retail sector and eventually moving up the ranks to become a buyer for the renowned Hugo Boss AG corporation. As a former chief designer and member of the Board of Directors at Hugo Boss, Baldessarini’s expertise and passion led him to create his own luxury label.
In 1994, Baldessarini unveiled its inaugural menswear collection, marking the brand’s official entry into the fashion world. To represent the brand, the iconic Charles Schumann, a well-known bartender and author of a popular cocktail book, became the face of Baldessarini. Schumann’s rugged and distinctive appearance perfectly captured the essence of the company’s first fragrance, Baldessarini by Baldessarini, which was introduced in 2002 and garnered two prestigious FiFi awards in 2003 – a groundbreaking achievement for a German designer.
The early 21st century witnessed the launch of a series of highly successful men’s fragrances under the Baldessarini brand. Adorned with the slogan “Separates the men from the boys,” these fragrances were endorsed by Schumann until 2009 when the campaign for Strictly Private introduced the new face of Baldessarini, Werner Schreyer. Originally, Baldessarini fragrances were developed in collaboration with Procter and Gamble. However, in November 2011, the fragrance license was acquired by Maurer & Wirtz.
To date, Designer Baldessarini has released an impressive collection of 20 exceptional perfumes. The earliest fragrance was crafted in 2002, while the most recent addition hails from 2023. These incredible fragrances were crafted in collaboration with renowned perfumers such as Jean-Marc Chaillan, Pierre Wargnye, Geza Schoen, Firmenich, Mathieu Nardin, Vincent Schaller, and Alberto Morillas, further solidifying the brand’s commitment to excellence and innovation.
