Atelier de Geste, also known as Gesture Studio, is a dynamic multi-media venture founded by Beau Rhee. Rooted in the belief that all matter possesses a natural rhythm and every gesture possesses the potential for choreography, Atelier de Geste focuses on the exploration of living matter and processes. This project delves into contemporary interpretations of ritual and ceremony, delving into the interplay between the human body and its surroundings, as well as the intricate relationship between costume and theater. The studio operates as a living practice, extending its reach into multiple fields. Rhee and her team aspire to bring forth a fresh, contemporary theater experience that showcases living situations within both artistic and everyday contexts. Atelier de Geste’s fragrance line, which consists of five unique perfumes, offers a sensory extension of their creative endeavors. This emerging fragrance brand made its debut in 2011 and has continued to innovate, with the latest addition to their collection released in 2016. The talents of perfumer Irina Zhurikhina-Nesa have been instrumental in the creation of the brand’s fragrances.
