Mr. Robinson himself had previously held various positions at Fred Segal, including salesman, buyer, and ultimately Vice President. Currently, one can find Ron Robinson boutiques situated on Melrose Avenue in Los Angeles and on Broadway in Santa Monica, both as integral parts of the esteemed Fred Segal centers.

In the mid 1980s, Mr. Robinson expanded his boutique to include a beauty department aptly named Apothia. The name Apothia is a clever amalgamation of the words “apothecary” and “utopia.” In the year 2000, Ron Robinson launched the inaugural fragrance for the Apothia brand, aptly titled IF. This fragrance resonated incredibly well with the masses, propelling Mr. Robinson to further elevate the brand and establish Apothia Los Angeles—a collection of exceptional fragrances and acclaimed interior aromatics. Today, Apothia has attained a global reach.

Within the realm of fragrance, Apothia’s designer line encompasses six distinct perfumes, each celebrated for their unique charm. The earliest edition was crafted in 2005, and the latest offering is from 2021.
