Apolis is a socially conscious lifestyle brand that aims to empower communities around the world. It was founded by Shea and Raan Parton, two brothers hailing from Santa Barbara, California. Growing up, they had the opportunity to travel extensively with their parents, who were passionate advocates for nonprofit organizations.
Right from the beginning, Apolis adopted a unique approach. Instead of simply importing traditional crafts from various communities, the brand sought out skilled artisans and formed partnerships to collaboratively design products. This approach allowed for a meaningful exchange of ideas and ensured that the creations were not just replicas of existing indigenous crafts.
Even before graduating from college, the Parton brothers managed to ship out Apolis’s first “impact product” – a cashmere sweater produced in collaboration with a cooperative in Nepal. This pioneering venture took shape in Shea’s dorm room and made its way to the prestigious retailer, Bloomingdale’s.
While primarily known for their fashion line, it is worth mentioning that Apolis has recently expanded into the world of fragrance. As a designer brand, Apolis currently offers a single perfume in our fragrance encyclopedia, introduced in 2016.
